Travel Diary :: Lost in Scotland.

Scotland
Scotland
Over Easter I spent some time in Scotland and we spent a couple of days out of the city taking in some nearby countryside.

First, the beautiful town of Luss on the shores of Loch Lomond, which is one of my favourite little spots in Scotland. Whether it be heaving with people escaping the city for the day in the middle of Spring, or empty, grey and raining in the middle of Winter, its always such a special little spot.

I also got to enjoy something I've wanted to take in for a very long time - a wind farm, up close.

Not from the seat of a train or plane. From the ground, sitting in the heather and undergrowth watching grouse fly back and forth and listening to that eerie hum of the blades as they rotate slowly in the wind.

We drove to Whitelee Windfarm which is the largest in Britain, and is located a short drive from Glasgow. Its not only impressive as a working windfarm, its also a wonderful spot to go for a walk in the relative wilderness, watch some wildlife and generally enjoy a bit of S P A C E.
Scotland
Which after being cramped in any city for a while, is always a welcome relief.
